Exhibitions, symposium, meetings
28–30 June 2019
Different venues in Celje, Slovenia
We are informing you about a project involving our co-worker of World of Art School and Studio 6 programme, Jasna Jernejšek. Her research and curatorial engagement focuses on photography and visual culture. Within this scope she is a programme director of this year’s festival Celje FOKUS.
This year’s edition of the festival Celje FOKUS is dedicated to the theme ‘Everyday Banalities’ which addresses notions of photography and visual culture in relation to ordinary, everyday, non-spectacular, familiar, bizarre or even dull situations. During the opening weekend of the festival exhibitions, international symposium, presentations and meetings will take place in different venues across town of Celje.
Experts and artists are going to analyse visual manifestations of the world we live in such as cultural landscape, public space, material fetishism, kitsch and self-referentiality that are regularly showcased in the field of contemporary photography and art in the 21st century.
