Gentrification, the regulation of public space in urban areas as well as efforts to combat vandalism and misunderstanding of the significance of street art, are all driving street art away from urban spaces to peripheral areas, where it seeks out abandoned bus and train stations, factories, warehouses, unfinished construction projects and similar structures. This is exactly what spurred on the Kultivarnica association in the past year to develop the project On the Urban Edge, whose challenge is to find these sites using the method of urban exploring, document them appropriately through photography and archive them before they too vanish due to demolition or redevelopment.

The exhibition presents three photographs by artist Cvetan Nedelkovski, taken during his urban exploring. These images show abandoned public and private buildings that have been frequented by many street artists over the years, who have left their mark there. Nature, on the other hand, has provided a green backdrop.

Cvetan Nedelkovski (1982, Skopje) is a graffiti artist with more than 25 years of experience. During this time, he has participated in numerous international festivals and jams, led urban intervention projects and conducted workshops for children as well as adults. His street works have been published in the book 100 European Graffiti Artists (2014, Schiffer Publishing, Ltd.). He has been living and working in Slovenia since 2018.

Kultivarnica is an association that develops education, production and promotion activities within the field of contemporary art. Its members cover various fields of creativity, from contemporary performing arts to urban culture.
