Videospotting in SUNSETCINEMA
October 18 and November 9, 2007
Cour du Couvert, Luxemburg - Bonnevoie
SCCA, Center for Contemporary Arts - Ljubljana is participating with video program Videospotting in the project of Liesbeth Bik & Jos van der Pol and Apolonija Šušteršič SUNSETCINEMA.
SUNSETCINEMA will take place from 28th September till 1st December 2007 in a small square; Cour du Couvent in the shape of a quarter of a circle in the neighbourhood called Bonnevoie in Luxemburg City. The aim of the authors was to design a modest platform for film lovers; a meeting point for a local film Club and its audience. A programme will challenge people to make films, create discussions around contemporary topics and provide a video rental of collected movies for the neighbourhood.
The cinema configuration consists of three elements: seating tribune, screen and a box with
logistics as the minimum requirements.
SUNSETCINEMA will program from the sunset onwards. When there is no screening going on, the structure will create - by its presence - an urban space hopefully "infested with promise and expectation".
The film program as well as its collection will be compiled in different ways, in collaboration with different institutions and individuals, film, video and program makers from all around.
SCCA-Ljubljana will participate with Videospotting, thematic programs of video art from Slovenia:
