Exhibition & service platform

April 6-25, 2010
Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana
Vžigalica Gallery, Trg Francoske revolucije 7, Ljubljana
Opening: Tuesday, 6th of April 2010 at 8pm

In order to be fully operational, culture and arts need a comprehensive support system which provides information, consultancy, services and networking. SCCA, Center for Contemporary Arts – Ljubljana has been developing such a support system for years through integrated programmes, providing well-rounded support aimed at developing better conditions for art and culture production: Artservis, Cultural Contact Point Slovenia, ALF Contact Point, Evrokultura and ArtsLink.

Heads of the programmes will set up a working environment in the gallery, where they will perform their everyday tasks, provide information and consultancy in person and via web, and organise workshops, discussions and presentations, with two international panel discussions as highlights. The first will focus on the cultural policy and the issue of financing culture and the second on Ljubljana as a creative city. Everyday presentations will focus on funding opportunities, particularly the EU programmes (Culture 2007–2013, Media 2007, Youth in Action, Lifelong Learning, Structural Funds), and also the lesser known ones (Anna Lindh Foundation, the EEA and Norway Grants). Presentations will be prepared in cooperation with relevant information offices, agencies and authorities.

The study exhibition will feature a diverse programme in terms of genre and media, showcasing artistic works and projects examining conditions for artistic production.
