We would like to inform you about the exhibition project of Petra Varl, an artist taking part in SCCA-Ljubljana project Internet Portfolio.
Petra Varl is a Slovenian artist who creates drawings, paintings, prints and installations. She has shown her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the São Paolo Biennial, the Ljubljana Museum of Modern Art, Budapest’s Mu¨czarnok Museum, Warsaw’s Zacheta National Gallery and the Vienna Museum of Modern Art (MUMOK).
For her first solo exhibition in New York, "I Always Get What I Wish For," Petra presents two distinct bodies of work, both featuring her signature stylized drawings of ordinary people
in everyday situations. These latest, large format drawings on primed wooden panels, subtly address the ambiguities in our concept of identity by showing moments in the lives of her figures that are both intimate and yet openly visible.
