Organiser: Sculpture Association, Križevniška 2, 1001 Ljubljana
From the fifty received works the exhibition selector and curator dr. Petja Grafenauer selected twenty four artists. The economic conditions influenced the selection as well as the concept of the exhibition, for in the "current unfavourable situation in which culture has found itself, it would be even more restricting than usual to demand from the artists to create a work on a narrowly defined theme in these poor production conditions. The tender therefore included all works that deal with or include sculptures, sculpting, sculptors, Slovene sculpture, sculpture in Slovenia, exhibition, sculpture exhibition or Slovene sculpture exhibition."
This open concept accepted works by artists with a critical stance towards the position in which their field has found itself and who are aware and critical of the unfavourable situation of the little people. The exhibition will also present works that show development or persistence in personal artistic positions. The exhibited works indicate a lively and diverse sculpting practice, its context, persistence of the middle generation and encouraging activities of the younger generation.

KOLEKTIVA (Vesna Bukovec, Lada Cerar, Metka Zupanič) will participate with the installation Lost in Communication (metal pipes, 2010 -, various dimensions).
KOLEKTIVA, Lost in Communication, installation at the exhibition E-motion to cohabit, Galleria d'Arte Moderna Palazzo Forti, Verona, 2010
Lost in Communication is a flexible sculpture composed of intertwined groove pipes painted in vivid colors. The installation chaotically occupies indoor or outdoor gallery space. The sculpture symbolizes the difficulties of interpersonal communication, caused by various (mostly psychological) factors. Communication is never simple end linear. In most cases it contains certain deviations and detours which make it a complex and sometimes even unsuccessful endeavor.

KOLEKTIVA’s work is based on research of various aspects of communication, inter-personal relationships, and everyday life. In their projects they search for all kinds of personal stories and are interested in both storytelling and voyeurism at the same time. As a group they create projects in response to given situations. They frequently collaborate with the public. They invite different individuals, passersby or specially targeted groups to collaborate and they include them in their projects as a source or co-authors of the work. The artists understand the process of art making as a mixture of imagination, negotiation, exchange and cooperation.
In ten years of collaboration Vesna Bukovec, Lada Cerar and Metka Zupanič presented their group works in several solo exhibitions and participated in significant international group shows in Slovenia and Europe. KOLEKTIVA is mostly known for different projects within their platform Special Place in the City for which they gain international recognition.
Besides working in KOLEKTIVA all three authors work as successful solo artists. Metka Zupanič and Vesna Bukovec also curate video screenings and exhibitions of international contemporary video art in collaboration with the Photon Gallery.
