D.I.Y. and D.I.W.O. Art Systems: Corrections to the Dominant Yet Deficient System and Narrative of Visual Art in Slovenia from 1960 to 2000

Saša Nabergoj, head of the World of Art is a guest lecturer at the School of Arts (University of Nova Gorica, Gorica) in 2014/2015 and 2015/2016: together with dr. Petja Grafenauer she is lecturing the course entitled D.I.Y. and D.I.W.O. Art Systems: Corrections to the Dominant Yet Deficient System and Narrative of Visual Art in Slovenia from 1960 to 2000.
The education is supported by Erste Fundation as part of its programme PATTERNS Lectures, which is devoted to the development of new university courses in Central and Southeastern Europe in the field of art history and cultural studies. With lectures and study visits of international visiting professors PATTERNS programme encourages exploration of contemporary art in Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe.
Saša Nabergoj is an art historian, curator and critic. Assistant director at SCCA−Ljubljana, Center for Contemporary Arts (Slovenia). A member of AICA (International Association of Art Critics) and IKT (International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art, Amsterdam). Writer, editor, curator and lecturer on contemporary art, focusing on curatorial and critical practices.
The University of Nova Gorica is fourth Slovenian university and has grown out of the School of Environmental Sciences, which was later joined by several other educational institutions. School of Arts was founded in 2008 on the basis of fifteen years of experiences of Famul Stuart School of Applied Arts. The Digital Arts and Practices programme has been developed in accordance with the principles of Bologna declaration, in the academic year 2012/13 they implemented study with the master programme Media Arts and Practices.
